This is a structured course guided by a curriculum that is broken down into four 1-hour long classes. Designed and taught by Cassydraws (@cassydraws.art), this Course will enhance your skills in brush techniques, colour mixing, blending, and layering. At the end of this course, you will be able to paint your own original pieces.
These skills will further get refined in subsequent classes in this series.
This class and the entire series is designed for absolute beginners
CLASSES
Session 1: Supplies & Introduction to Colour Mixing
Learn all about the supplies needed for acrylic painting, along with an introduction to colour mixing that help further strengthen your confidence and ability to create multiple variations of tertiary colours. Cassy will also cover the basics of shading and tinting and teach you how to adjust natural tones to complete our section on natural neutrals in Acrylic.
Session 2: Basic Brush Techniques
Cassy will go through various brush shapes and discuss their purpose and where they can be used most effectively in painting. You will also understand how to get the most out of your brushes and how the paint's consistency can affect your painting approach. Finally, you'll get an introduction to wet-on-wet and wet-on-dry techniques.
Session 3: Shadow, Mid-Tone, Highlight, and Layering
Develop your layering technique and shadow/mid-tone/highlight knowledge by practising basic shapes with different light sources and consolidate your understanding of wet-on-wet blending. At the end of this class, you'll be able to paint a simple still-life object.
