Acrylic can be difficult to work with, so I am always excited to see more students take the leap of learning to work with it – and I am happy to help them get to the next level in their journey.

What will I learn in each class?
Great question! Here is a short description for every single class:
Session 1: Supplies & Introduction to Colour Mixing
Learn all about the supplies needed for acrylic painting, along with an introduction to colour mixing that help further strengthen your confidence and ability to create multiple variations of tertiary colours. Cassy will also cover the basics of shading and tinting and teach you how to adjust natural tones to complete our section on natural neutrals in Acrylic.
Session 2: Basic Brush Techniques
Cassy will go through various brush shapes and discuss their purpose and where they can be used most effectively in painting. You will also understand how to get the most out of your brushes and how the paint's consistency can affect your painting approach. Finally, you'll get an introduction to wet-on-wet and wet-on-dry techniques.
Session 3: Shadow, Mid-Tone, Highlight, and Layering
Develop your layering technique and shadow/mid-tone/highlight knowledge by practising basic shapes with different light sources and consolidate your understanding of wet-on-wet blending. At the end of this class, you'll be able to paint a simple still-life object.
Session 4: Bringing it all Together w/ a Landscape
Bring and consolidate everything you have learned in this course and apply it to a landscape painting.
