Intuitive Abstract Mini Series

Learn how to create abstract pieces in acrylics through an intuitive yet thoughtful process as Jeannine Close of (@j.close.studio) shows you how to:

• playfully layer materials to create interesting abstract shapes and forms;

• use interesting techniques using unconventional materials to add unique textures to your pieces; and

• analyse and correct the emerging compositions for a pleasing result.

By the end of this class, you will have the foundational skills necessary for creating intuitive abstract pieces and the confidence to transform them into your desired outcomes.

This class is for intermediate artists who are comfortable using the medium and supplies.

• Wood Pulp A5 Paper Block (Hot Press)

• 25% Cotton Watercolour Postcards: Cold Press

• Acrylic brushes

• Acrylic paints

• Palette knife

• Scrap paper

• Household items you don’t mind getting paint on (e.g. plastic fork, skewer, cork)

• Other media (e.g. soft pastels, water-soluble crayons, pencil)
