The Journey of Looking (in Watercolours)

This is a structured course, guided by a curriculum and broken down into 4 hour-long classes. Designed and taught by professional watercolour artist Ian Fennelly (@ianfennelly), this course will hone your watercolour skills.

This course is suitable for intermediate artists.

Ian's learning objectives for this course:

• To see and notice things before putting pen onto paper;

• To use pencils to establish a simple structure and composition;

• To use watercolours to help create both a descriptive and emotional response to the subject;

• To use fineliners to help discover and record the detailed street furniture;

• To let the picture breathe and focus attention on key areas.

As your understanding progresses, each session will increase in difficulty to push you out of your comfort zone and help you grow as an artist.

At the end of this course, you will have a deeper understanding of the medium and the process. In addition, you'll be capable of creating an emotional connection between your work and the audience.
