Learn to convey the form and shine of a fish with one of Etchr’s Resident Artists, Jun-Pierre Shiozawa (@junpierre). He’ll show you how to use various techniques, including gradated washes, colour dropping and wet in wet to create the lustre and shine on a fish. You’ll learn to capture the characteristics of a fish and how that can be transferable to other subjects. Check out his reference photos and linework.


This class is for beginner to intermediate artists, who are well acquainted with the medium and supplies.

This class was exactly what I was hoping for. I have done Gyotaku but have not been able to find any workshops since moving to another state. I’ve watched this class a couple of times taking notes on how to keep the shine etc. and am ready to go for this ‘form’ of fish printing. Thank you!

This is the second class I have taken with Jun online - and it was terrific, both helpful and stimulating. It is clear that Jun is both very knowledgeable and very comfortable in sharing his knowledge. And the completed fish are beautiful!
